OnePoke.com - Progress Update
So as most of you know, I’m currently in the development process of a site called OnePoke.com.
Progress is plugging along nicely - although I did say in my last update that I would be giving you guys a lot more info in this post, I’m going to keep things under wraps this week. 
Instead, I’m going to once again ask for those of you that are interested in becoming beta testers to please contact me. Beta testing will begin one week from now, on January 5th, 2008. Provided everything goes well, the official launch is still scheduled for January 12th.
This is your opportunity to have an influence on the site from the get go. Also, anyone that is interested in advertising opportunities with OnePoke, please contact me in advance for specifics regarding this, as it’s better off to get in early before the site gets too big.

Onepoke is on schedule Taris. What type of testing do you want us to do?
Testing will simply be input on the design/functionality/features of the site, and if there are any errors.
Telling us what you like, what you don’t like, and what you would like to see done differently will be the main points though

You just need to tell Shareit and all those social bookmarking sites to add it for you. They have an option which says recommend a social bookmarking site.
A single save for social bookmarking would be wonderful. Especially the dofollow bookmarks.

It will be nice just to get in early as a beta tester.
But for that Taris needs to complete the site so the beta testing starts.
I am speculating the seven days of beta will give you a lot of ideas. My hope is that it is not too many.
Usually you should test atleast 15 days before launching.

Glad to have yahoo email. Been using it since I don’t know when. Actually have all my “official emails” on redirect to Yahoo email.
Have you tried Gmail. I surely think Gmail is way superior to Yahoo.
Been using yahoo for a decade and yes I have gmail account. Just don’t want to make a change, don’t need to. Besides too many people have my yahoo email.
That could be a reason but that doesn’t make yahoo the best and you can always redirect your mail to gmail.

The social networking side I have not joined Orkut or Hi5, but this give me reasons to now. See what I can do through them. Looking forward to the sneak peek and the launch.
If you give us a January 12th as a firm date, I can schedule some Web 2.0 posts as a prelude, finale with OnePoke going live.
Hi5 has not really moved. I am sure onepoke will be quite a good site and will really give some social sites a run for their money.
Received spam email to join Hi5 recently. Don’t know if someone used me as a friend reference or what. Didn’t open it, now I wish I had, but who opens spam?
If i am at Hi5 and i send you a email to join then you would receive a request. It can go to spam thats not a issue.
Right now, we are not trying to replace these social sites - we are going to act as a hub for all of your social networking needs, taking away the need to ever log in, and giving you a snap shot of whats new everywhere, and a quick and easy way to do certain things that you would want to do cross site.
Once it is up, you will see what I mean, as it will be a social networking tool, not just another social networking site
Right now, I’m gonna say I will let you know when the best test starts if we will be able to make the 12th deadline for sure for sure
I want to make sure everything is in order, as we just made some good progress this weekend, but we definitely have to push hard this week
The best social networking site as of today is Facebook, alexa 5.
No dofollow links on Facebook. At least MySpace gives you one dofollow link on web site.
But the value of these social sites is not SEO but traffic through community interaction.
I am not talking about the way their links are but Facebook as a social site is the most famous yet.
NySpace i think is kinda useless. Not that i have used it but thats what i think.

You sure would. I think your service quite resembles onlywire. Only thing is your covering more ground.
Only wire seems to be just a simple application of sorts. OnePoke.com will be a social networking portal - far different from the onlywire
No i meant to say that Onlywire has many bookmarks together, similarly onepoke has many things together.

You should even register.net and other extensions once the site is a success, otherwise people will make use of it.
The more I hear better it gets. Like that OnePoke will have some good depth compared to what is out there.
I think the name OnePoke really conveys the message very well.

So far just keeping steady!@! Got the dedicated server setup - we’re going to migrate to it either tomorrow or friday!!!
