Do You Digg What I’m Saying?
Do ya dig it?? Do you think it’s cool?? Do you want other people to read what I’m saying?? Do you DIGG my articles??
However way you cut it, Digging an article is just one way of marketing your blog articles. If people like your article, they will Digg it as well. Most blogs, like mine for example, have the various social media submission links, such as digg or stumble, at the bottom of the article.
This makes it quick and easy for anyone to digg your article, and let others know that there’s something worth reading at your blog.
The problem is, that in this day and age, where people are looking at how to make life easier for themselves, what if your article hasn’t been dugg?? How many people are actually going to take the time to fill out the digg form, description, category, confirm via security code, check for duplicates, and verify originality??
I know for one, it’s not gonna be me!!
I know what you’re saying - “Hold the phone - aren’t you PROMOTING digging articles???” And you’re exactly right, I AM!!! But there’s a catch. The first person to digg an article has the hardest task of the bunch - SUBMITTING THE ARTICLE TO BEGIN WITH.
And while I am all for digging an article if it’s good, will I want to be the first person to have to submit it? Probably not. Put yourself into Joe Everyblogger’s shoes and ask yourself, do you want to spend those few minutes of your life digging an article yourself?? Or would you rather just be able to click digg, and be done with it.
You just answered the question right there - 99% of the time, people want it to be a simple one click BOOM you’re done kinda deal. So what can you do to increase the convenience for yourself?? BE THE FIRST PERSON TO DIGG YOUR ARTICLES!!!
I will personally digg submit each of my articles that is worth digging. By taking the time to do this myself, I take the hassle out of digging. That way, all my readers have to do is click!!!
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I’ll sit there and wait for every article to be published and digg it. I’ll usually take care of this a few times a week, including multiple articles at a time.
And this is also my recommendation to you!! DIGG YOUR OWN ARTICLES FROM TIME TO TIME!! I can’t think of how many times I’ve gone to submit a good article, only to have to fill in the details myself. PAIN IN THE BUTT!!!
This is a topic that is often overlooked, as the point is that digg can be a great source of traffic to your blog, you just have to make the effort to make it easier for your own readers to help you out.

Bingo Taris. You need to digg your article first before anybody. You also need a big social bookmarking button
Perhaps by the name of OnePoke?? hehehe
I used to digg my articles on my blog back when I was soo motivated and didn’t really know how to handle my time. In most cases the articles wouldn’t do very well but I’d still submit them hoping I’d maybe make it big.
Nowadays I got a big enough following that I leave it up to the readers to do it. I now manage my time a lot better.
If a readers really likes it and thinks its worth digging, they will do it providing you make their life easier by putting up a button or something similar.
Yea I’ve got the button, but personally I hate having to fill in the details on other peoples articles - so I try to do it just for convenience sake!!
I’ve never thought about using Digg, but I AM however looking for ways to gain more exposure. How long have you been “digging” your articles?
I started digging them for about a month now - although none of them have gotten huge pageviews, they have contributed some!! Better than none right?
I occasionally digg or stumble my own articles but only if I think they are really special. I don’t even mind filling in all the forms for those articles that I really like.
What I hate is those people who say they have either stumbled or dugg the post when in actual fact they haven’t. Don’t they know that they will be found out and will then lose all credibility.
Totally - I only digg the useful ones - and very true - why lie right??
