Christmas Season LINK LOVE!!
Hey guys - in the spirit of the Christmas season, I wanted to make my first LINK LOVE post!!! Now for those of you in the know, you’ll know what link love is all about. For those that DON’T know, heres the story.
Link love is very simply linking to other blogs etc that you like to check out. By linking to other blogs, it gives these blogs increased traffic. How does this help you make money online, you might ask?? Well as the old saying goes, give and you shall recieve!! If other bloggers find that you’re giving them a lot of incoming traffic, chances are they will return the favour and direct some traffic your way as well!!
So anyways, on to the goods - here is a list of the blogs I currently frequent, with a brief description of what they blog about. Enjoy!!
101 Ways To Make Money Online - http://makemoneyonline101.co.cc/ - Just from the title, its fairly self explanatory!! Useful articles and tips on the fine art of making money online.
AverageGal - http://www.averagegal.com/ - This blog is all owned by a lady that used to be big in the corporate world, and decided to give up her life as a business woman to take up professional blogging. She covers topics such as ways to make money on your blog, topics such as investing, and good ways to monetize your traffic. Lots of useful articles here.

Inside the Secret Life of a Super Affiliate - Zac Johnson dot Com - http://zacjohnson.com/ - This blog focuses on affiliate marketing. This is arguably one of the hardest avenues to execute properly, so check it out for some tips on how this super affiliate does his thing.
John Chow dot Com - http://www.johnchow.com/ - This is the blog that originally turned my attention to the blogging community. He covers all sorts of interesting topics, but most important is his free e-book on how you can make money with a blog just like he does. With over $30k monthly income from his blog, you’d be crazy not to read his book and take some tips from a pro!!
Jokez Guy - http://jokezguy.com/ - An interesting blog with a good amount of humor in the posts as the title might suggest. A largely personal blog, but an interesting read nonetheless.
JR’s Internet Marketing Strategies - http://getinternetmarketingstrategies.com/ - This blog is straight up down to business. No nonsense pure useful information. A good addition to anyones RSS subscription list.

Wow, thanks Taris, Would have been here sooner, but was dealing with WP 2.7 upgrade problems. Thank you!! I appreciate it!
No problemo!! I help my users out by giving them some good information, and I help you out by giving you some more traffic. Everyone wins!!
Plus you gotta give before you can recieve - an important point many forget!
@JR- Hope that upgrade and issues have panned out for you. Blog looks good though.
His blog is very search engine optimized.
Oh and thanks for all your quality participation on my blog!
Thank you for my link love!
Enjoy visiting new blogs, usually peruse Chow’s Pho Dot Com shout out list to see what is happening. That’s how I came across AverageGal (I think?). Where I return and comment is for 1). content and 2). link help. Like Zac Johnson, gives great content but his top commentator section doesn’t work (seems to be spill-over from his blogroll), so I never comment. But I read every post. Others, if there is a comment contest or by commenting every post I have a chance to be on top commentators, I do. Helps me get traffic from the link and some SEO help.
wow didn’t realize his top commentors was non functional!! I’ll have to save my breath over there then hehehe
Saw his response to you. That it was a tab, looked cool but still put me off from commenting and trying top commentator status. 1). Imagine people won’t click the tab to see who is there. 2). No link love. I didn’t check the source code, but fairly certain that search engine crawlers cannot find his top commentators links. This is no knock on him, still love his posts, but just don’t try to get in & stay in top commentator status.
Yea I saw that too - I don’t think anyone in their right mind would think to click on that lol!! In all honesty he should make it the default, and then people can see his other links if they want to click.
Agreed. For someone quite savvy with the Internet, you would think Top Commenter would be a key component on his site.
Taris i have noticed you are always at the top in commenting, whether my blog or johns or shoemoneys. Way to go.
P.S Can you tell me how you are the first to comment, i guess you should write a post on that.
In all honesty - the secret is just to check back often!!! That’s a good idea though, and I will make a post about being the first to post hehehe
Don’t know about all browsers, but Flock is good about having a feeds sidebar which checks frequently for updates. Prefer this than before with Google reader, having to go and check there. I can keep this open all day.
Thats a neat idea with the sidebar they have going on!!
I am thinking of opening a google reader account. Simply because i have subscribed by email to blogs and its not all that fast, and my inbox is cluttered.
It’s not a bad idea - or you could just wait for your onepoke.com account and add all of your favourite blogs there instead to the onepoke reader!!!
Ah, a OnePoke reader! I was think of a post writer, but a reader would be good too. For something down the road, if there is a paid premium OnePoke, a SMS text notice of new blog posts of one’s favorite blogs would be nice. Another way to stay on top of the comments.
You can get sms alerts of sites via google. I have that done on my blog.
There is also Comment Sniper, this alerts you as soon as a post on the blogs you enter is posted, works great!
Thanks for the great recommendation!!
Is that for blogs which have comments moderated?
No, it’s just software that alerts you from your desktop as soon the bloggers you added update so you can be the first to comment.
Oh cool, that will help you to be the first comment and thus chances are that other readers visit your blog by clicking on your name, sounds cool. Need to download.
Doing a link love post creates community. Not only people reciprocating, but people feeling the “love” to keep coming back. That their visits means something.
Definitely!! No matter how big a blog gets, I think it is important to at the very least show your readers that you care in some way
Fantastic Taris. Your thoughts are very postive and you do believe in giving alot, which is a very good thing.
You and Neal Patel are probably the best I have experienced on the web about replying to comments.
Even now that I’m getting hundreds of comments daily from the last few days of the comment contest, I still read them all and tryt o reply to as many as possible
I appreciate that! Really do.
We all do appreciate. Its difficult to reply to all comments though.
Fantastic approach Taris. I am quite sure there are very few people who would be brave enough to give so much link love. Way to go.
