Christmas Approaches!!!
So as I’m sure the recent TV and radio ads have told you, Christmas is right around the corner. So I hope you all have started or are close to finishing your holiday shopping, and are all getting into the spirit of the season.
I personally love this time of year, from the snow, to the decorations - it all really brings me back to when I was a kid. You’ve got to admit, those days were the best days no matter how you slice it!!
Take this picture I posted for example. Who wouldn’t be happy to come home to something as charmingly Martha Stewart as that?? My favourite parts of the season are the egg nog, the Christmas dinner, and seeing all of my favourite people with smiles on their faces (super cheesy I know).
So how bout you guys??? What holidays do you celebrate?? What are you guys all planning for the holiday season??

For the holiday season, planning to relax a bit.
Excellent glad to hear!! Yu need the rest after all those post you do hehehe
After the comment contest will be looking forward to all the New Years Day football.
I would love to have some rest. Probably watch some top gear.
Wow, you have my desktop screensaver as your image, I love it! I too love Christmas, my neighbors across the street have a whole light show going on and I just put up my lights and tree yesterday. Also, we just got 2 feet of snow, first this year…cool!!
that’s awesome!! From what I can tell we’re going to be getting a big dumping of snow in the next few days - where abouts are you??? In in toronto, canada
Having fresh snow for Christmas would be nice. Not only did we not have snow we had 70 degree weather. Nice for a winter day but not Christmas Day. Doesn’t make much sense to have hot chocolate looking at the tree when you have the doors and windows open.
70 degree weather? You stay at the equator?
The Martha tree is missing life. Like the crazy ornaments people give away, the kids craft ornaments kept year after year, construction paper chains, etc. Stuff that makes the Christmas Tree special is the year after year built into it. I guess that is what Christmas means to me is the memories built year after year. Hard to buy into someone else’s version, although Martha’s version is beautiful, my trees had the above with too much tinsel, generic round colored Walmart bulbs, and blinking colored lights that alternate. In my teenage years, use to just lay on the couch in the middle of the night and watch the lights blink.
Definitely!! I will post pics of our fully decorated tree - it’s quite a sight!
When is the question. I read your post about Christmas tree Chopping and misinterpreted to be Christmas Tree Shopping instead.
An idea, while still in the Holiday spirit, write and schedule a post for June 25th. Reminding everyone the Christmas spirit should be year around. Would be nice with snow, trees, and all, in June.
Hmm interesting idea!!
It would be good to see you tree chopping pics and other Christmas pics in the summertime.
I will be eagerly waiting for more on trees. I like the tundra.
Speaking of scheduling a post. Your January 1 post showed up in archives probably because it was for for January 1, 2008. I did that too when I scheduled my post (Jan 1) for your referral contest.
You mean January 1, 2009. I saw the post sometime back and emailed Taris to correct it.
No, he had 2008 that is why it was archived.
I know, he had timestamped it for next year.
Think I will come back here when I am done and leave the Christmas tree on the monitor all night.
I had a Christmas tree before but sadly it got all wafted thanks to me not maintaining it.
